Arrhythmias - symptoms and how to test

Abnormal cardiac rhythm is medically known as arrhythmia. When the heart's electrical signals that regulate its rhythm become disorganised, individuals experience cardiac arrhythmias. Heart rate abnormalities, such as tachycardia, bradycardia, and irregular heartbeats, result from misdirected signals. People above the age of 60 have a higher incidence of arrhythmias. Ageing contributes to this problem. People in their latter years are at increased risk for Arrhythmias. Potential contributors include other medical conditions or cardiac issues. The test results will inform the doctor of the exact location of the arrhythmia and the possible causes and treatments for the condition. An ECG can also predict the probability of cardiac arrhythmias in patients with existing medical problems.
