Il monitoraggio pressorio delle 24 ore è un test non invasivo che consente di registrare la pressione arteriosa continuativamente per 24 ore, mediante un piccolo apparecchio fissato in vita con una cintura. Nella pratica: Il giorno dell'esame, in farmacia, viene sistemato ed avviato il dispositivo. Nelle 24 ore successive vengono misurati i valori della pressione arteriosa e della frequenza cardiaca mentre si svolgono le normali attività quotidiane (ogni 15 minuti) e durante la notte (ogni trenta minuti). Al termine delle 24 ore l'apparecchio viene tolto ed i dati inviati al cardiologo per la refertazione. Il referto viene consegnato entro 48 ore dall'invio al cardiologo.
