Are do-it-yourself Covid-19 tests accepted for travelling?
Unfortunately, the Covid-19 test results do-it-yourself tests are not accepted where travel is required. This is because travel is required for a test carried out by qualified medical personnel, a patient's test high level of specificity/sensitivity and details on the report.
What is Italy’s Green Pass for travel or the EU's COVID travel pass?
The EU Digital COVID Certificate (EUDCC), is a document that allows people to travel to/from all 27 member states of the European Union.
A Digital Green Certificate is a digital (and if requested also a paper) proof that a person has either
- been vaccinated against COVID-19; or
- received a negative test result; or
- recovered from COVID-19
The pass is issued by hospitals, test centres, health authorities etc. It consists of information about the individual and their vaccination/test/COVID recovery. The digital version consists of this information and a QR code stored on the individual's mobile phone.
The certificates should be rolled out for issuance and verification by summer 2021.

Do I need a doctor's prescription for a rapid antigen Covid test in Italy?
Usually antigen tests/lateral flow tests do not require the prescription of a doctor in Italy. However, it is good to inform your doctor about the values ​​of the results in order to enable it to assess whether or not there is the need to prescribe a possible molecular tests.
