Kidney stone - symptoms and how to test
Renal calculi, commonly known as kidney stones, are solid deposits of minerals and salt that occur inside the kidneys. Kidney stones are more common in white males in their 30s and 40s. Kidney stones, however, can affect anyone. Several factors, including one's diet, being overweight, having a medical condition, and using certain supplements or drugs, can lead to kidney stones. Imaging scans help doctors diagnose kidney stones. The tests can also reveal underlying conditions, such as an obstruction in the urinary system or a congenital abnormality leading to a kidney stone formation.
